Si 2003 reste l'année fondatrice du combo, 1999 fut la source de ce qui deviendra finalement Y825, qui ne se prononce qu'en anglais (Why eight to five) et qui veut dire « Pourquoi de 8 à 5 » sous-entendu (17h).
MikaelH(chant/guitare/harmonica/ texte) et David M. (Guitare), sévissant dans le milieu underground de La Chaux-de-Fonds et du Locle s'associent sur un projet créatif de composition et d'expérimentation mélangeant leurs influences éclectiques. Le travail en duo durant plus de trois ans permet de développer un univers exclusif, personnel, sobre et direct, puisque restreint à deux guitares et à la voix. Les thématiques issues de la folk music et de l'americana et les sonorités typiques provenant du matériel 70's, se réveillent en un rock alternatif posant les bases de ce que deviendra l’univers artistique de Y825.
En 2003, l'envie de faire un choix parmi les dizaines de morceaux créés et de les confronter à une partie rythmique devient obsessionnelle. Diverses sessions et jams avec des musiciens de la région finiront par convaincre le duo du bien fondé de cet apport. Raph C., un ami et batteur de talent sera le premier à rejoindre le duo, épaulé par différents bassistes. Y825 est né.
Une première démo regroupant les versions primitives de "shameful giant", "life's illusion" et "why" est alors enregistrée. Divers acteurs de la scène underground helvétique l'accueil positivement, permettant au groupe de se produire dans quelques salles et festivals. Le groupe désire mûrir sur scène avant d'avoir la prétention d'un enregistrement plus conséquent.
L’année suivante, des problèmes de santé obligent Raph C. à quitter le combo, batteurs et bassistes se succéderont pour épauler le projet
L’année 2005 voit le groupe s'impliquer dans des sessions studios marathoniennes et décousues, résultant de leurs activités nutritives annexes… Les performances publiques parallèles et l'accueil qui leur est fait dans la presse permettent d'établir divers contacts dans le milieu musical professionnel, qui aboutira à la collaboration inespérée avec George Marino (Dandy Warhols, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, The Hives, Velvet Revolver), du Sterling Sound Studio (New-York, USA). Les prises de son et le mixage sont effectués par Claude Kamber. George Marino oeuvrant au mastering.
La seconde moitié de l’année 2006 est marqué par le retour des premiers membres du groupe. Raph C. réintègre Y825 définitivement à la batterie, accompagné de Dany M. guitariste d’exception qui prend en charge la basse pour quelques mois. Les quatre amis de longue date sont à nouveaux réunis, apportant une complicité scénique et créative plus forte que jamais dans l’histoire du combo.
Labellisé chez ESP Records depuis juin 2006, l'album, dont la pochette est l'œuvre du jeune artiste Pablo Santamaria (Genève), est disponible officiellement depuis le 21 août 2006, en Suisse, Allemagne et Autriche (Distr. Phonag).
2007 a été marqué par le départ de David M., cofondateur du groupe et père depuis quelques mois. La bassiste Dita R. intègre officiellement Y825, permettant à Dany M. d’occuper sa fonction favorite en tant que guitariste principal du groupe.

If 2003 remains the year founder of the Y825 band, 1999 was the source of what will become Y825.
Mike H. (song-guitar-text) and David M. (guitar), both active in the Swiss underground music world in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle teamed up on a creative project of composition and experimentation mixing their eclectic influences. The work in duet lasted more than three years and made it possible to develop an exclusive universe, personal, sober and direct, since, restricted with two guitars and the vocal.
In 2003, the desire for making a choice among their forty plus songs and for confronting them with a rhythmic part is felt. Various sessions and jams with musicians of the area will end up convincing the duet of their decision. Raph C., a friend and an excellent drum will be the first one to join the duet, helped by various bass player .The band Y825 was born.
A first demo/sample with the primitive versions of "shameful giant", "life's illusion" and "why" is recorded. This demo was well welcomed by the various actors of the Swiss underground musical scene, allowing the band to perform in some concerts and festivals. The band decided to mature on stage before going into a recording studio for their first LP.
The following year, health problems forced Raph to quit the Combo. Various drummers and bass players joined to support the band
In 2005, the band is involved in never-ending studio sessions during several weeks, led to this 1st album already awaited impatiently by the public and the press, after seeing the various live performances of the band. It also allowed the band to establish various contacts in the musical professional circle, which will end up with a collaboration for their first album with George Marino (The Dandy Warhols, The Allman Brothers Band, Led zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, The Hives, Velvet Revolver), of the Sterling Sound Studio (New York, the USA).
The second half of 2006 saw the original band members coming back, Raph C. at the drum and Dany M who is an exceptional guitar player took care of the bass for few months. The 4 friends from childhoods are back together bringing back strong stage complicity.
The band signed with ESP Records. The graphics of this first LP were made by a young artist named Pablo Santamaria (Geneva) and the album named Y825 is officially available since August 21, 2006, in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.(Distributed by Phonag)
2007 saw David, co-founder of the band who became father of a boy, leaving the band. Dita R. joined as the official bass player to allow Dany M. to go to its favoured position, lead guitar.
